This second message in our series on biblical human identity returns to Genesis 1:26-28 and 2:15. God's initial purpose for humanity, our core created vocation, is to hold dominion over creation and subdue it as royal rulers, while at the same time guarding it and keeping it as serving priests.

On this first Sunday of Advent, we hear a lament. Strange way to kick-off the "holiday season"...
But Advent is about more than a baby in a manger, it's is about the long wait of God's people for Him to make all things new. It is the cry of those who know that the world and their lives are not right. It is the longing for God to forgiver, restore, renew.
But God's timing and ways are not ours, and we voice our complaint, our lament, that life is not going well, and that we are not well. When will God act!?

”This is my Son, my Chosen One, Listen to Him.” (Luke 9:28-36)

Luke is clearly answering the question that has been raised in the story, "Who is this?" In our last passage, Peter answered the question. In this weeks passage, God the Father answers this question. And the answers require us to respond.
