A People Scattered (Genesis 11:1-9)

Building a city and a nice community centre seems like a good thing... Not when it is borne out of rebellion.
God's purposes for humanity was not mono-cultural. We know gardens and forests don't thrive that way, why do we assume that humanity will?

A World Purged (Genesis 6-9)

The story of Noah and the Flood is the central story of Genesis 1-11. It is the story of the seriousness of sin, the judgment of God, and His overwhelming mercy.

Sin Spreads (Genesis 4)

Anger. Frustration. Accusation. Lashing out.
Our culture is rife with this stuff. Scan you social media feed and it doesn't take long to find some one that's angry about something... We live in an age of outrage, and it can destroy us.
It destroyed Able, and it also destroyed Cain. There is no winner in the game of rage.

RelationshipsBroken (Genesis 3)

We only get four chapters in the Bible where everything is awesome. The first two and the last two. Everything in between is about the mess humanity has made of all our relationships, and God's unwavering commitment to pursue us with redemption and reconciliation.
Genesis 3 is usually titled "The Fall", but in reality it's just the beginning of the fallenness of humanity. It starts here, but as the story continues we will see more and more brokenness and dysfunction from those created to bear the image and likeness of God. The reality we live with everyday is introduced here. And the reality of God's relentless gracious pursuit of His people is emphasized.
